Kelsy made her ranch dressing with onion powder in it and wow, did it ever have a delicious kick. Dehydrated onions are a great way to get the flavor punch you thought you had to give up with the switch to real food. No MSG needed!
Peel your onions and slice them about 1 millimeter thick. Put them on your dehydrator trays. Run the dehydrator at 145F for about 12 hours.
When the onions are dry, put them in a jar to store them. You can eat them as spicy chips or use them in your cooking.
You can crush them to a powder when you are ready to use them, or leave them whole and store that way.

OH, this is all that and a bag of healthy chips
I love onions. I so need to get a dehydrater!!! Thanks for passing this on

Thanks for sharing! This has got me thinking! Would this work well with garlic?
It’s worth a shot! I think I would slice the cloves of garlic before dehydrating them.
Great recipe! I added it to my ever-growing list of 101 Dehydrator recipes. If you have more, please add them here: 101 Dehydrator Recipes.
I wish I had a dehydrator! How long do they keep?
They’ll keep indefinitely in the freezer. As for how long in the cupboard – I don’t know. They never last that long!
